Behind the Scenes with RVA Fashion Week 2012

Fear not, your eyes are not playing tricks on you. The capital of the confederacy indeed has a fashion week! RVA Fashion Week is the capital city’s leading fashion event and serves to introduce and educate the public about the latest fashion and trends going on by various independent designers hailing from not only Richmond, VA but from across the country.

This week long event will showcase the latest styles from independent designers and local boutiques in the Greater Richmond area, including an array of stores from Richmond’s own “Soho”, Carytown as well as Short Pump Town Center.

Seeking to bridge the gap between retailers, boutiques, fashionistas and fashion media; the RVA Fashion Week team is dedicated to highlighting the culture of Richmond’s fashion scene. With larger venues, more boutiques, further community involvement and additional viewership- this year’s line-up of shows is sure to stimulate your inner vogue.

This year’s participating designers include: Laurianda Jenkins,Brittany Covington, Harry Trinh, Britt Sebastian, Jennifer Carpenter, Lisa Hutchinson, Kamala Bhagat, Elysa Joelle Wade, Angela Bacskocky, and Krystal Vaquerano.

With less than a week away, this week long community event is about to blast off! Excitement fills the air as designers complete their looks, stylists prepare for fittings, and models polish off their strut for the catwalk.
